Chennai Super Kings (CSK) registered their first victory in the ongoing tournament of Indian Premier League after they thrashed Punjab Kings (PBKS) by six wickets at Wankhede Stadium on Friday.
SK pacer, Deepak Chahar took the spotlight as he dismissed four wickets. He dismantled the PBKS batting unit with his dominating bowling and took the wickets of Mayank Agarwal, KL Rahul, Nicholas Pooran and Chris Gayle. He completed his four wicket haul while conceded only 13 runs in his quota of four overs.
Young player Shahrukh Khan was the highest scorer with 47 from 36 deliveries at an incredible strike rate of 130.56. He smashed four fours and a couple of maximums during his quota.
Chasing the target of 107, the Chennai Super Kings won the game with six wickets. All rounder Moeen Ali scored maximum with 46 runs off 31 balls, which included seven fours and a six. For PBKS, speedster Mohammed Shami picked up two wickets for 21 in four overs.
