With just one week left to start the 14th season of the IPL, it is difficult for Delhi Capitals to cope up with the news. This would come as a major blow for last year’s finalists.

The team’s star all-rounder and spin bowler Akshar Patel has been found to be COVID-19 positive. This is huge for Delhi Capitals as  Axar has been in good form lately for the national side. Though no official confirmation has been made yet, news agency ANI has received this information from sources in the Delhi Capitals team. Currently the characters are in isolation with all the protocols. If sources are to be believed Axar Patel will be quarantined for 10 days under regular spectation of doctors.

Axar Patel is not the first player to test positive for the virus , Kolkata Knight Riders batsmen Nitish Rana was also tested positive for the virus. He was tested positive on 22nd March and on 1st April his test came out to be negative.

IPL is soon going to start, but spread of COVID-19 virus especially in Maharashtra can cause a trouble in smooth running of the league. Today 8 groundsmen of Wankhede stadium, Mumbai were tested positive and then Axar Patel.
