IPL 2021: Frustrated Sam Billings took to Twitter to report about his hotel’s Wifi issues

With less than ten days before the start of the Indian Premier League 2021, top cricketers from around the world have already arrived or are on their way to India to familiarize themselves with the terrain and help them strategize their gameplay.

One of those world-class stars, Englishman Sam Billings, arrived in Mumbai on March 29 as a part of the Delhi Capitals, the previous season’s runner-up team. The hotel’s “non-existent” wifi, on the other hand, made life difficult for the wicket-keeper batsman, who posted about this on Twitter.

“Hotel WiFi is non existent….. Best WiFi dongle to buy and use in India please?” Billings wrote.

Indian users rushed to the cricketer’s aid and began naming brands with successful dongles almost immediately. Billings also held a poll between Jio and Airtel to determine who would be the ‘winner.’

Finally, some expert advice came from his team member, an Indian cricketer, Ravichandran Ashwin, who appeared to be dealing with a similar problem in his room.

“I bought one buddy!! That’s far better, but these hotel walls are resisting the speed!!” Ashwin replied.

Billings arrived in India ahead of India’s three-match ODI series against England at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. However, he was only able to play in the first ODI, where he injured his shoulder while attempting to save a ball from scoring a boundary. Even though he returned in the second innings, the batsman was unable to perform well as the injury was too harsh for him.
