IPL 2021: Harbhajan Singh reveals, which actor can play his character in Biopic
With almost a week to go when the IPL 2021 begins, India’s former off-spinner Harbhajan Singh who is currently serving his quarantine period. Featured in a special question-answer session conducted by his new franchise Kolkata Knight Riders ( KKR) on its Instagram page on April 1. During this session, Harbhajan shared how he is passing his time by watching web series and movies on OTT platform. Turbanater also revealed the challenges he his facing during this quarantine period because it has been not easy for him as he has to stay in his room all the time.
During this question-answer session, Harbhajan was asked if there would be a film made based on his story then which Bollywood actor he would like to see playing his character. Harbhajan said, “If there would be a film made based on my story then I think either Vicky Kaushal or Ranveer Singh should play. Both these boys look like me and also have a good height and physic. Therefore they will be able to play my role very well, especially Vicky Kaushal as he is also a Punjabi guy so I think he will do it correctly.”
Harbhajan also revealed the story behind his name ‘Bhajji’ during the conversation. He said that the name of ‘Bhajji’ was given by his teammates when he was 20 years old and he also said that he does not remember how he got this name and which special person named him. Nowadays the trend of making biopic on the players is going well in Bollywood. If you talk about the most famous biopic on a cricketer, then the first name in this list comes MS Dhoni: The Untold Story which was played by Bollywood actor Late Sushant Rajput. Apart from MS Dhoni, biopics have been made on Mohammad Azharuddin, played by Emraan Hashmi and is fully set to play India’s World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev alongside Ranveer Singh in another biopic. The film is based on India’s famous victory during the 1983 World Cup.
Harbhajan also revealed how he copes up when people miss-identify him with Punjabi singer and rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh. “Many people have said this to me, once in Starbucks they wrote Honey on my coffee, I was wearing a cap and a long coat then they thought Honey Singh had come. Later, when I asked them whose coffee is this, they said it was mine, again I asked why Honey is written on this, they said it is for you and then I replied “I am Harbhajan.”
Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will be starting their campaign on April 11 with a game against David Warner-led Hyderabad side in Chennai
