IPL 2021: Have look on what Sam Billings has to say about his recent performance

As the audiences are all set to witness the 14th season of IPL which begins from April 9, each and every player is gving their best in their team’s practice sessions. Sam Billings, England wicketkeeper-batsman highlighted himself saying that he has improved his gameplay and is ready to mark himself in the scoreboards in this IPL. Billings will be playing on behalf of Delhi Capitals for the second time in a row.

In the IPL auction in February, Billings was bought at base price of 2 crore by the Delhi franchise.

When Billings was asked if he has to say anythig about his gameplay, he quoted, “”My game has improved a lot since I last played for Delhi. Hopefully, we can kick-on as a group and win the competition this year.”

“It’s great to be back at the IPL. There is a great group of players and the DC camp has been very welcoming. I am very excited to be here,” he said.

Till date, Billings has recorded a score of 3527 runs, with 107 catches and 17 in 187 T20 matches.

Talking about IPL, he said, “I love the IPL. It’s one of the best competitions in the world and the buzz around the IPL is something that you can’t get anywhere else in the world, so I am just looking forward to playing in the tournament again.”

As Shreyas Iyer is on rest and ruled out from this IPL season due to his inury, Rishabh Pant has been appointed as the skipper of Delhi Capitals.

Due to an injury, Shreyas Iyer, former skipper of Delhi Capitals has been ruled out this season, the team will be carried forward by Rishabh Pant as the new skipper.

Remembering his experience with Pant, Billings said, “”I remember the first time I saw Rishabh play. We had a middle practice, and he was hitting bowlers like Chris Morris, Nathan Coulter-Nile and lot of other bowlers everywhere and then I asked Rahul Dravid (then Delhi franchise mentor), ‘Who is this guy?’.”

Delhi Capitals openning match is scheduled on April 10 and they will be facing Chennai Super Kings at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
