IPL 2021: “I want to be the highest wicket-taker for India,” RCB’s Mohammed Siraj says

Fast rising pacer Mohammed Siraj is all set to play his best in the field and make total use of the given opportunities that will help him to fulfill his dream of being the highest wicket-taker for India. Siraj has played five Tests, one ODI and three T20I series for India after making his debut against New Zealand in November 2017.

The 27-year-old, who plays for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League, said that he wants to play all the formats and also credited his success to his fellow teammates Ishant Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah.

“Jasprit Bumrah used to stand beside me whenever I was bowling. He told me to stick to the basics and not do something extra. It’s nice to learn from such an experienced player,” Siraj said in a video posted by RCB’s official Twitter handle.

“I even played with Ishant Sharma, he has played 100 Tests series. It felt good to share the dressing room with him. My dream is to be the highest wicket-taker for India and I will work hard whenever I get an opportunity,” he added.

When talking about his performances, Siraj expressed that he used to feel low on confidence but after playing against Kolkata Knight Riders with some amazing strikes, his confidence was boosted up.

“Last year, when I joined RCB, I was low on confidence. But when I started bowling with the new ball, I was also bowling on a single wicket, which helped me a lot,” RCB’s key pacer said.

“And then the performance against KKR gave me a lot of confidence. The team culture here i so nice that everyone used to get together and discuss stuff like Virat does.”

Mohammed Siraj, who captured 39 wickets in 35 IPL matches, also confessed how he is working hard on every chance he gets to play for India. He further spoke about the series he wants play against England after the upcoming season of IPL 2021 is over.

“I want to play all three formats for India. Whatever opportunities I get, I want to give my 100 percent and grab them with both the hands. There is a series against England after the IPL, I will give give my best.”
