IPL 2021 : India and England players permitted for bubble to bubble transfer
A total of 12 bubbles will be made, eight for teams and support staff, two for match officials and management teams and the last two for crew and commentators.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has allowed the Indian and England players for the bubble to bubble transfer regarding the upcoming season of IPL 2021 starting in the month of April.
This means that the players can directly enter the respected IPL bubble without going through quarantine.
In a Standard Operating Procedure issued to the teams, as per the reports, the Board has specified that “players coming directly from the bubble created for the India vs England series, maybe permitted to join their franchise squad without serving the mandatory quarantine period, provided they satisfy the criteria of moving directly to the franchise team hotel in the team bus or on a chartered flight.”
The SOP also mentioned that if the chartered flight is to be used, it should look after the necessary precautioned and the BCCI’s chief medical team has to be satisfied with the process.
A total of 12 bubbles will be created. However, the BCCI officials will not be a part of the bubble and as a result, cannot meet directly to the players, support staff or the commentators.
Similarly, like the last year, the Board will have at least four officers with the teams, who will look after the people entering the bubble and will be given the trackers.
