IPL 2021: Jofra Archer ruled out for whole season

England pacer Jofra Archer is set to miss the entire tournament of IPL 2021. Archer will undergo his surgery on the right hand on 29th March.

Archer returned to the UK after playing two tests and five T20Is against India. He took seven wickets in the shortest format of cricket and four in the Test match cricket. England Cricket Board (ECB) declared Archer unfit for the ODIs against India because of his right-hand injury. ECB said, “England fast bowler Jofra Archer will undergo a procedure to his right hand following a scan and subsequent Consultant review since he returned to the UK on Tuesday.”

Rajasthan Royals the franchise Archer represents said they will wait until next week to take any step further. Earlier the Royals were expecting Archer to return in the second half of the tournament but now it looks uncertain for the 25-year-old pacer to take part in IPL 2021.
