IPL 2021: Kane Williamson score essential half-century for Sunrisers against Delhi Capitals
Sunrisers Hyderabad batsman Kane Williamson has been playing a steady and impactful innings against Delhi Capitals.
On Sunday’s double-header match between Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad, the Delhi Capitals won the toss and chose to bat first here at M A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Batting first, Delhi Capitals managed well after a sloppy start to set a total score of 159 runs on the board for 20 overs.
Sunrisers Hyderabad hasn’t had quite a good season this time as they have been suffering losses and have registered only one win for themselves and acquire the bottom order of the points table.
Hyderabad was struck in the beginning with Warner waking back to the Pavillion very early in the match, the opening duos plan to provide well for the team in the powerplay didn’t go well, but Jhonny Bairstow settled well for the team and played a foundational inning for the team with 38 runs coupled with 3 boundaries and 4 massive sixers. Before getting dismissed by Avesh Khan.
Kane Williamson stepped up for the role as a middle-order batsman for the team, Williamson stood his ground from the beginning and has been playing much-needed innings for the team, the score seems chasable for the team with such impactful batting power. But only a responsible batting display could make that happen, with Warner and the topper order failing to do so, Kane Williamson’s stable innings has bought back Sunrisers into the match.
Kane Williamson has been on the crease torturing Delhi bowlers continuously with great cricketing shots that display his experience and skill in terms of batting. Kane Williamson’s addition to the playing 11 is definitely a decision that has worked out well for struggling Sunrisers who are desperately eyeing a win.
Kane Williamson is currently batting at 51 runs off of 42 balls with 6 boundaries, only time will tell if he will take the aggressive role and finish the match with some massive sixers.
