IPL 2021: Matches to be postponed, all teams will undergo hard quarantine

Stormy clouds of the COVID-19 virus loom over the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League as two players Varun Chakaravarthy and Sandeep Warrier of Kolkata Knight Riders and members of the Chennai Super Kings contingent including coach L. Balaji have tested positive for the coronavirus.

With the current scenario, today’s match between MI and SRH will likely be the last match for some days as teams will undergo hard quarantine and BCCI will deliberate further to decide how can the league be conducted safely enough?

There have been talks among the management to take all teams to Mumbai and conduct remaining matches in Mumbai and Pune to spare the players any kind of travel risk.

Tomorrow’s match between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals has been canceled and the players will begin hard quarantine after their coach L. Balaji along with some staff have tested positive for the virus.
