What a shocker to most fans before the Royal Challengers Bangalore go against Kolkata Knight Riders tomorrow. Captain Virat Kohli decides to put an end to his captaincy of the Bangalore squad after the UAE leg of 2021.

Earlier, Virat Kohli decided to end his T20 captaincy after the T20 World Cup too. Addressing the fans and supporters of the RCB squad, Virat takes this decision owing to the immense workload and pressure that he has been facing. He reassures that he will continue to play for the RCB franchise throughout his IPL career. This decision is taken after speaking to the team and management. Virat Kohli says, “This was on my mind for a while.”

As a result, Virat Kohli is grateful for all the support he has received over the last 9 years. He will use this time off to refresh and work on other responsibilities better. To conclude he said,” This is just a small halt, not the end of the journey.”

RCB will also go through a transitional phase. Firstly due to the auction for next year. Secondly for the captaincy. Fans and well-wishers are extremely disappointed with this decision. They pour out over comments on social media!

So far in the Indian Premier League the Royal Challengers Bangalore have done very well. Hoping that Virat can enjoy his maiden title this year and first one as captain. Best of luck to the team for their remainder of the league.
