IPL 2021: Wasim Jaffer added another chapter in endless social media banter with Michael Vaughan
Former England captain Michael Vaughan had predicted the winner before the start of the 14th season of the Indian Premier League. On which former Indian opener Wasim Jaffer has taken a pinch. Vaughan had said in his tweet that this season too Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians team will capture the title, Sunrisers Hyderabad can win the title if something different happens to them. Vaughan has now responded in a joking manner to Vaughn’s tweet. Ever since India’s tour of Australia that started in November last year, Wasim Jaffer and Michael Vaughan have engaged in endless social media banter.

Early #IPL2021 prediction … @mipaltan will win it … if by some bizarre loss of form then @SunRisers will win it … #OnOn #India
— Michael Vaughan (@MichaelVaughan) April 7, 2021
Jaffer said this because Michael Vaughan had made many predictions in the recently concluded India-England series and most of his predictions were proved wrong.
Michael Vaughan has also predicted the victory of the Mumbai Indians team because this team is perfect in every department and has so far won 5 out of 13 titles.
Mumbai Indians became two-time champions in IPL 2020 and 2019, if they manage to win the title this year too, they will become the first team in the history of IPL to hit a hat-trick of becoming champions.
Before Mumbai, Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings won two consecutive titles in 2010 and 2011. But he failed to win three consecutive titles.
Wasim Jaffer has other reasons to hope that Vaughan’s prediction goes wrong, as he will be hoping Punjab Kings, for whom he is the batting coach, will have a good run this season.
The KL Rahul-led side will begin its IPL 2021 campaign against the Rajasthan Royals on April 12. With some fresh overseas signings at the auction, the Punjab Kings certainly look a stronger side than last season.
