IPL 2021: What the higher officials of the IPL team franchise have to say about IPL’s continuation
The current situations of breaches have made it tough for IPL 2021 to continue.
With the breach of the Bio-Secure bubble in different camps and particularly KKR taking place, officials are worried about the mere continuation of this season of IPL 2021.
Bio-Secure bubbles are meant to be airtight from all aspects so that the people inside the bubble, don’t come in contact with any forsake contiguous Virus carrying person but recent developments from KKR and CSK has worried the very might of the World’s Toughest T20 franchise-based league.
Few officials have come out without disclosing their identities to pass their remark regarding the current situation. “There is no going back now with half of the tournament done. The news (positive cases in KKR) makes the BCCI’s job more challenging,” a franchise official told PTI. He continued,”We have been hearing that a player got infected because he was taken outside the bubble for scans. So, it could have happened outside the bubble. As far as I know, everyone is strictly following the protocols laid out by the BCCI and there was no breach there.”
Another team official said, “Even if you have to pause the tournament, how long can you hold back? The only way is to keep isolating the positive cases and keep playing. The players are naturally more anxious now but it is mainly because they are not sure about how they would get back home.”
There are no official words regarding the continuation of this season but it’s a wait and watch situation since there are still arguments in favour and against continuing the tournament.
