Rajasthan Royals fast bowler Jofra Archer had a good start with the ball in the ongoing match against Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2025. The game is being played at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Jofra Archer Starts Strong for Rajasthan Royals
Archer, who has been in great form recently, gave his team an early boost with his sharp pace and accurate bowling. He made things difficult for the LSG batters by bowling tight lines and lengths.
He picked up a key wicket by dismissing Mitchell Marsh and then put pressure on Aiden Markram and Nicholas Pooran as well. However, Archer didn’t get much help from the fielders. He was clearly frustrated with Shubham Dubey, who made two mistakes in the field that left the pacer visibly upset.
The first mistake happened on the fourth ball of the opening over. Jofra Archer bowled a slightly short delivery outside off, and Aiden Markram punched it through the covers off the back foot. Shubham Dubey chased the ball and dived to stop it but failed to pull it back in before it crossed the boundary.

Archer’s frustration grew even more in the 5th over when Shubham Dubey dropped a catch that could’ve dismissed Nicholas Pooran. It happened on the fourth ball of the over when Archer bowled a length delivery in the middle, and Pooran tried to hit it square.
Pooran didn’t time the shot well, and the ball took a top edge, flying high into the air. Wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel called for the catch but couldn’t reach it as it went toward the cover region. Shubham Dubey was in position and got under the ball, but it slipped through his fingers after brushing them.
Jofra Archer was clearly upset and stood with his head down, looking disappointed.
