Rahul Sets New Record: Fastest Player to Reach 5000 IPL Runs
In the game against his former team, Rahul played a careful innings, scoring a half-century and hitting the winning runs. Since joining DC, he seems to have found a fresh start and is in excellent form.
With Goenka watching from the stands, Rahul’s performance must have been particularly satisfying. It marked his third half-century of the season, making a strong statement after facing Goenka’s criticism during the previous season with LSG.
During his innings, KL Rahul also set a new record by becoming the fastest player to score 5000 runs in the IPL, surpassing legends like David Warner and Virat Kohli.
KL Rahul will be back in action for Delhi Capitals in their next game against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Tuesday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. A couple of wins in the next six matches will take DC to 16 points, which is usually enough to qualify for the playoffs.
