Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni reached another big milestone in his legendary career by becoming the first player in IPL history to complete 200 fielding dismissals. He achieved this during the match against Lucknow Super Giants on Monday at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium.

Dhoni made the record in the 14th over with a smart piece of wicketkeeping. Ayush Badoni stepped out of his crease while trying to play a big shot against Ravindra Jadeja, and Dhoni quickly stumped him. This moment added another special achievement to Dhoni’s name in the IPL.

Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni added another major milestone to his legendary career. He became the first player in Indian Premier League (IPL) history to complete 200 fielding dismissals. Dhoni reached this record during CSK’s match against Lucknow Super Giants on Monday at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium.
The record-breaking moment came in the 14th over when Dhoni quickly stumped Ayush Badoni. Badoni stepped out to hit Ravindra Jadeja but missed the ball, and Dhoni removed the bails in a flash.
Later in the final over of LSG’s innings, Dhoni took a catch to dismiss Rishabh Pant, helping him cross the 200-mark. He now has 201 dismissals in the IPL, which includes 155 catches and 46 stumpings. This was also Dhoni’s 271st IPL match.
Former wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik is second on the list with 182 dismissals, while RCB legend AB de Villiers is third with 126.
In the match, MS Dhoni won the toss and chose to bowl first. LSG’s only highlights were a 50-run stand between Mitchell Marsh (30 off 25) and Rishabh Pant (63 off 49), and a 53-run partnership between Pant and Abdul Samad (20 off 11) later in the innings. LSG finished with 166/7 in 20 overs. Ravindra Jadeja (2/24) and Matheesha Pathirana (2/45) were the standout bowlers for CSK.
