Rishabh Pant’s performance in IPL 2025 took another hit on Monday (May 19) as he failed with the bat once again in the important match between Lucknow Super Giants and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Rishabh Pant’s Disappointing Performance Continues in IPL 2025

As the captain of LSG, Pant has struggled to lead his team this season. With LSG now in a must-win situation to reach the playoffs, all eyes were on Pant to play a big knock against Sunrisers Hyderabad. LSG were in a strong position when Pant came out to bat.

Asked to bat first, LSG got off to a strong start with Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh going after the bowlers from the beginning. The two openers put on 115 runs in less than 11 overs before Marsh was dismissed by Harsh Dubey. Marsh scored 65 runs off 39 balls, hitting 6 fours and 4 sixes.

With the team in a good position, it was time for Rishabh Pant to step up and play a big innings. LSG already had more than 100 runs on the board after 11 overs, and Pant was expected to make a big impact.

However, Pant disappointed again, getting out for just 7 runs off 6 balls. He was dismissed by Eshan Malinga on the last ball of the 12th over. After his dismissal, team owner Sanjiv Goenka walked away from the balcony. Fans were quick to criticize Pant for his poor performance yet again.

LSG will be hoping that Pooran and Badoni can stay at the crease and help them finish with a big total.

Having lost their last three games, LSG are eager to win this match to stay in the playoff race. They are currently in 7th place with 5 wins and 6 losses.
