On Monday, May 26, Punjab Kings (PBKS) played Mumbai Indians (MI) in match 69 of IPL 2025 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.

Punjab Kings won the toss and chose to bowl first. Mumbai’s openers Rohit Sharma (24) and Ryan Rickelton (27) struggled to get going. Suryakumar Yadav scored 57 runs off 39 balls, setting a new record for Mumbai Indians in a single IPL season. Hardik Pandya (26) and Naman Dhir (20) also played quick innings to help MI reach 184 for 7.

For PBKS, Arshdeep Singh took 2 wickets in a great last over. Marco Jansen and Vijaykumar Vyshak also took 2 wickets each, and Harpreet Brar took 1.

While chasing, Priyansh Arya scored 62 and Josh Inglis made 73, helping PBKS get close to the target. Shreyas Iyer finished the game with a six. Punjab Kings won by 7 wickets and secured a spot in the top two.

Meanwhile, ahead of the match, Mumbai Indians stars Rohit Sharma and Yuzvendra Chahal shared a fun moment on the field. While Chahal was training with his teammates, Rohit walked over to talk to him briefly.

For the unversed, Yuzvendra Chahal didn’t play in the PBKS vs MI match last night as he was ruled out due to a lingering wrist injury. Yuzvendra Chahal also missed the previous match against Delhi Capitals because of a small injury. At first, it was thought to be just a precaution, but now team sources say it’s a wrist problem that hasn’t fully healed yet.
