Krunal Pandya Tops the List of the Longest IPL Fifty Gaps

Longest gap between IPL fifties: In the Indian Premier League, many players go through hot and cold spells, but some had to wait years before they could score their next half-century. Can you imagine waiting thousands of days just for that next 50? Let’s take a look at the top 5 batters who had the longest gaps between their half-centuries.

5. Dwayne Bravo – 2,168 Days

Last IPL 50: 18 April 2015 (vs Rajasthan Royals)
Dwayne Bravo’s gap between half-centuries lasted 2,168 days. His first 50 came back in 2009, and it was six seasons later in 2015 when he scored another. He made 62* off 36 balls for Chennai Super Kings against Rajasthan Royals, but despite his effort, CSK lost. Bravo has since become more of a mentor than a player, but that 50 broke a long wait.

4. Wriddhiman Saha – 2,191 Days

Last IPL 50: 2 May 2014 (vs Kings XI Punjab)
Wriddhiman Saha went 2,191 days without an IPL 50, from 2008 to 2014. His first 50 came in 2008, and it took until 2014 for him to score another. That season, playing for Kings XI Punjab, he not only got his 50 but also scored a century. Saha’s 50 in 2014 felt like a big weight lifted off his shoulders.

3. Travis Head – 2,516 Days

Last IPL 50: 26 March 2024 (vs Sunrisers Hyderabad)
Travis Head went a whole 2,516 days between half-centuries. His first one came in 2017, and then in 2024, he finally broke the dry spell. That year, Head had an outstanding season, scoring four half-centuries and a century, making him the highest run-scorer among overseas players in the tournament. What a way to break that long wait!

2. Karun Nair – 2,520 Days

Last IPL 50: 12 April 2025 (vs Mumbai Indians)
Karun Nair took 2,520 days between his first and second IPL 50. After his first one in 2018, it wasn’t until 2025 that he finally got another. When he scored 89 against Mumbai Indians for Delhi Capitals, it was a personal win for Nair, even though his team lost. But that knock made it all worth the wait.

1. Krunal Pandya – 3,269 Days

Last IPL 50: 26 April 2025 (vs Delhi Capitals)
And at number one, we have Krunal Pandya, who holds the record for the longest gap between two IPL half-centuries. His first 50 came in 2016, and he had to wait until 2025 to score his second. On 26 April 2025, he hit 73* for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Delhi Capitals. That knock was the perfect way to end his wait and helped his team secure a win.
