A source in the known of developments told to ANI ” See, at present all plans need to be made keeping the COVID-19 situation in mind. But yes, tentatively, we are looking at the September 15 to October 15 window. We would like to have 25 days to complete the league,” the source said.
On being asked by ANI if talks are on with the Emirates Cricket Board on the same, the source told ANI. “This is a tentative plan and will be discussed during the SGM on Saturday.”
“The final Test gets over at Old Trafford on September 14, so, we will look at getting the boys flown in from the bubble in the UK to the steam bubbles in UAE to minimalize the quarantine period. All that will be planned as we move ahead with franchises already moving base with those not playing international cricket,” ANI quoted the source as saying.
Notably, IPL was suspended indefinitely earlier this month. This decision was taken because of several COVID-19 cases in different franchises. Talking about team India, Team India is currently in isolation as they have to leave for a UK tour on 2nd June.
In England, the team will undergo a few more days of quarantine before starting the practice. World Test Championship is scheduled to be held from 18th June to 22nd June between India and New Zealand. India will also play a five matches test series against England. The series will start from the first week of August.
