Former England captain Michael Vaughan said that he would not be ‘surprised’ if veteran fast bowler Jimmy Anderson becomes a part of the Chennai Super Kings team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as this former champion team likes fast bowlers who have the ability to swing. Anderson retired from Test cricket earlier this year.

Former Australian great wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist was also included in this podcast. Vaughan said, ‘Chennai Super Kings is a team that likes bowlers with the ability to swing in the early overs. There has always been such a bowler in their team, be it Shardul Thakur or someone else. I would not be surprised if Jimmy Anderson were seen on the Chennai team.’

Anderson’s base price is 1.25 crores in IPL 2025

James Anderson played his last T20 match 10 years ago in 2014. Anderson, who took 704 Test wickets, never preferred to be a part of this league to give priority to the oldest cricket. He has joined the IPL mega auction with a base price of Rs 1.25 crore. When Anderson was asked about this decision, he said that he was joining this auction to increase his understanding of the game.

Anderson said on ‘BBC Radio Podcast’ last week, ‘I believe that I still have the ability to give something to the game. I can still play. I have never played the IPL, I have never experienced it and for many reasons, I feel I have a lot more to offer as a player.’
