One of the most watched test series is the Border-Gavaskar trophy played between tow mighty sides India and Australia. One such exciting series was played last year where one of the players that became star was the Australian batsman Marnus Labuschagne. He recalled his face-off with the Indian bowler last year saying that it felt like almost a chess game and that bowler was none other than Ravichandran Ashwin. Ashwin got 12 wickets in three Tests before suffering an injury and missing the fourth and final match of the series. During the three games, Ashwin dismissed Labuschagne twice in six innings, but the Australian hitter had the best of the off-spinner in the third Test in Sydney, scoring 91 and 73 in two innings.
Labuschagne appreciating Ashwin stated that he is one of the best bowlers he has ever faced because he knows how to assess the batsman and bowls accordingly. He enjoyed the way Ashwin had set field for him while bowling and how was I trying to move the field to score runs because he was able to pick up some things I used to do while bowling. He also appreciated the way he bowled in Melbourne and picked up some early wickets in the leg slip.
