South African opening batter named Quinton de Kock had his say on the three formats of cricket. The opener feels there is a lot of games to play for a player if he plays all the format of cricket. Playing T20Is, ODIs and Tests for a single player is going to be tough as it is been made difficult for the players and they aren’t getting enough rest as per Quinton de Kock.
Recently, in an interview, former Indian cricket team coach Ravi Shastri explained that why the three cricket formats are getting tougher for players. In that particular interview, Ravi Shastri told that Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya could play his last ODI World Cup in 2023. There’ll be time when players will choose formats of cricket i.e. focusing on one or two formats whichever suits them (as per Ravi Shastri).
“It’s going to start being tough for players — three formats is a lot and it looks like more games are happening over the calendar. Players need to make decisions individually and if they feel they can do it (play Tests, ODIs and Twenty20 internationals), I am happy for them,” said Quinton de Kock during the series against England on Sony Sports Network.
