The Cuttack T20I between India and South Africa delivered several historic statistical landmarks, headlined by Jasprit Bumrah entering the rare club of bowlers with 100 wickets across all three international formats. Major statistical takeaways from the match that resulted in an emphatic win for India.
South Africa Register Their Lowest Men’s T20I Total
74 all out-South Africa collapsed to their lowest-ever men’s T20I score. The previous lowest was 87 against India in Rajkot in 2022. Three of South Africa’s four lowest T20I totals have remarkably now been against India.
India’s Growing List of 100-Run Victories
India recorded their 9th win by 100+ runs in T20Is, second only to Canada, with 10. All nine of these big Indian wins have come against full-member countries, something no other team has managed. South Africa has lost six T20Is by a margin of 100+ runs, the most among full members. Three of those have come at the hands of India.
Jasprit Bumrah Reaches 101 T20I Wickets
Jasprit Bumrah went past 100 wickets in T20Is, moving to 101. He became the second Indian bowler after Arshdeep Singh (107) to do so.
Bumrah Enters Elite Club Across Formats
Bumrah is only the fifth bowler in the world to have taken 100-plus wickets in Tests, ODIs and T20Is.
The exclusive group includes:
Lasith Malinga
Shakib Al Hasan
Tim Southee
Shaheen Shah Afridi
Jasprit Bumrah
This is a monumental achievement, underlining Bumrah’s position among the best all-format quicks of this era.
Hardik vs Miller – A One-Sided Rivalry
David Miller has fallen eight times to Hardik Pandya in T20s, the most dismissals for Miller by any bowler. Against Hardik, Miller scores at 70 off 55 with an average of 8.75 and a strike rate of 127.27. Six of those dismissals have come in T20Is, wherein Miller has managed just 44 runs off 42 balls against him.
Hardik’s Six-Hitting Milestone & Middle-Order Dominance
Hardik slammed his 100th T20I six, becoming the fourth Indian to reach the landmark. 66 of those sixes have come in the death overs (17-20) most by any batsman in that phase of play since ball-by-ball data began. He now has three 50-plus scores batting at No.6 or lower, the most for any Indian. All six T20I fifties of Hardik have been at the position of No 5 or below.
Arshdeep’s New-Ball Brilliance
Arshdeep Singh has picked up 47 powerplay wickets to join Bhuvneshwar Kumar on top for most wickets taken by an Indian in the first six overs of a T20I innings. Only Southee – 65, Afridi – 55, Karan KC – 50 and Mark Adair – 48 have more powerplay wickets across all full nations.
