The Border Gavaskar Trophy match versus Australia had some unpleasant news for Team India. The Mumbai Indians pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the entire Test series by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), who don’t want to jeopardise his fitness. He was anticipated to return to international cricket by the third Test of the four-match series.
Bumrah is anticipated to play a significant role for the Indian team when they host the 50-over ODI World Cup 2023 later this year. Bumrah hasn’t played in an international cricket match since the Asia Cup 2022 last year. Bumrah won’t be joining the team for the next two games of the series, according to the publication “The Telegraph.” He is currently receiving treatment for his back issue at the NCA in Bengaluru.

The 28-year-ongoing old’s back issue has kept him out of action for the past six months. He was selected for the team to play in the ODI series against Sri Lanka last month but withdrew due to stiffness.
At the NCA right now, Bumrah is perfectly healthy. According to reports, he is practising his white ball talents while bowling aggressively. He has additional time for recovery after a break from the Border Gavaskar Trophy.
The switch back to the setup for Bumrah is also not simple. Next week, the MI pacer will take a fitness test to assess his levels. Fortunately, the pacer has not reported any stiffness, suggesting that he may soon be fully fit.
The squads for the third and fourth tests of the Border Gavaskar Trophy have not yet been released by the BCCI. In the upcoming weeks, Chairman of Selectors Chetan Sharma is anticipated to make the announcement along with the ODI team.
With the ball, Bumrah has a remarkable average of 21.99 in Test cricket after taking 128 wickets in his first 30 games. But after playing in 30 games since making his Test cricket debut against South Africa in 2018, his fitness record hasn’t improved.
