JBC Kabaddi League: All You Need To Know

As the kabaddi landscape in India conitues to grow, one more league has been added to the calendar. JBC Kabaddi League (Jharkhand–Bihar–Chhattisgarh Kabaddi League) have recieved a saction from the Kabaddi Association of Jharkhand, Bihar State Kabaddi Association and Chhattisgarh Kabaddi Association- all affiliated to the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India

The inaugural edition of the JBC Kabaddi League is slated to be held in the first half of 2026. A total of five teams representing the three states are likely to feature in the first season of the league.

The sport is widely played in schools and villages of the eastern states of India. The objective of the JBC Kabaddi League is to provide raw talents with a professional platform.

Ahead of the competiton, young kabaddi talents will be scouted by experts. Then the players will go under hammer in an auction where teams will be built.

At the launch, Singh said, “State and local leagues are key growth pathways. Jharkhand, Bihar, and Chhattisgarh share a deep connection with kabaddi, played widely in schools and community spaces. The JBC Kabaddi League builds on this legacy by creating a structured platform that connects grassroots talent to the professional ecosystem. With the strong support of the state Kabaddi Associations, we are confident in our vision to make kabaddi mainstream and a viable career choice.”

The league is jointly promoted by sports entrepreneur Rannvijay Singh, who has previously been associated with regional sporting ventures. He serves as director of the Bhojpuri Industry Premier League and is also the franchise owner of Awadh Ramdoots in the Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League.

To strengthen its grassroots outreach, the league has appointed veteran coach and former player Randhir Singh Sehrawat as its Brand Ambassador. Having spent more than four decades in kabaddi, he brings an immense wealth of experience. He is a proud recipient of the Arjuna Award (1997) and became the first kabaddi player to recieve the National Citizen Award (1991). He owns an astounding tally of 93 medals across major tournaments, including Senior Nationals, Federation Cups and All India Railway Championships.
