Jeddah is set to become a major attraction due to its exciting sports lineup this summer. The city is set to host both the World Pool Championship and the Snooker Masters, two of the most prestigious events in the world of billiards and snooker. These tournaments not only mark a significant milestone for Saudi Arabia in sports but also promise to deliver world-class competition, record-breaking prize pools, and opportunities for local talent to shine on the international stage.

Jeddah To Host The World Pool Championship

The World Pool Championship is returning for its second consecutive year in the Kingdom and will take place from 21 July to 26 July 2025 at the Jeddah Green Halls. The tournament is being organised under the supervision of the Saudi Ministry of Sports and in partnership with Matchroom and World Nineball Tour. The event is expected to attract over 100 top pool players and features a massive prize pool of $1 million, which is the highest ever for the Championship.

Some notable players are the defending champion Fedor Gorst and the champion Francisco Sanchez Ruiz in 2023, and five-time US Open winner Shane Van Boening. The event will feature 128 elite players, including wildcards.

The Snooker Masters Next In Line

Shortly after the World Pool Championship, Jeddah will host the Snooker Masters from 8 August to 16 August 2025. The event will bring together 128 of the world’s top players, joined by 16 emerging players from Saudi Arabia itself as wildcard entries. The tournament features a total prize pool of £2 million and is the second most profitable event in the sport. The Snooker Masters is more than just a tournament, it’s a platform for Saudi Arabia to test itself against the world’s best players.
