SA Event Worx is proud to have Mr. Omar Mohammed Zubair Al Marzooqi, a respected figure from the United Arab Emirates with extensive experience and achievements, as part of the league.
As an Ambassador Extraordinary and the owner of Omar Mohammed Zubair Al Marzooqi Group of Companies, Omar has also served as a Major in Dubai Police and is an International Olympic Handball Referee.
Omar’s Legacy in Handball and Global Recognition
Born on March 28, 1971, in Dubai, Omar’s journey is one of excellence and dedication.
A former handball player for Al-Nasr Club (1983–1998), Omar later became a referee and earned global recognition for his work. Among his many achievements are the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Sports Creativity and the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Award for Sports Excellence.
Omar scripted history when he became the first Emirati, Arab, and Asian referee to officiate a World Cup final in handball. He has refereed the World Cup finals twice for men, youth, and women’s junior teams, as well as other major tournaments, including the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympics.
Omar’s accomplishments and contributions are not just limited to the world of sports. He honors notable Emirati achievers weekly at his Majlis, celebrating accomplishments and inspiring future generations. He is dedicated to promoting talent and excellence, and this is something that aligns seamlessly with the goals and visions of the Kenya Blaster League.
