KL Rahul continued his great form for Delhi Capitals (DC), scoring a match-winning half-century against his former team, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), on April 22 in Lucknow.
KL Rahul’s Match-Winning Knock Leads DC to Victory
Chasing 160, Rahul came in at No. 3 after Karun Nair’s early dismissal. He built a 79-run stand with Abhishek Porel (51 off 36) and later added an unbeaten 56 runs with Axar Patel (34 off 20). DC won by 8 wickets with 13 balls to spare, marking their sixth win in eight games.
KL Rahul scored 57 runs off 42 balls, marking his third half-century of the season – all in away matches and while batting in different positions.
During this innings, he also reached a major milestone – 5000 runs in the IPL. He became the fastest player to achieve this, doing it in just 130 innings, breaking David Warner’s previous record set in 2020.

Before joining Delhi Capitals (DC), Rahul played for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) from 2022 to 2024, where he also served as captain. He also spent four seasons with Punjab Kings (PBKS), leading them in 2020 and 2021. Prior to that, Rahul played for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
