The Los Angeles Lakers’ full 2025-26 NBA season schedule is out, and fans are already circling the big matchups. After a disappointing first-round playoff exit to the Minnesota Timberwolves last season, the Lakers have retooled their roster and look ready to contend again.

The offseason headline was Luka Doncic signing a three-year, $160.8 million contract extension. Close behind was LeBron James opting into his $52.6 million player option. With both stars locked in, LA appears poised for a big run.

Key Dates on the Lakers’ Schedule

The season tips off with a high-profile opener on October 21 against Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors. Just two nights later, the Lakers face the Timberwolves in a rematch of last season’s playoff clash.

Early November could be one of the team’s softer stretches, featuring matchups against the Charlotte Hornets, the New Orleans Pelicans (twice), and the Utah Jazz (twice).

Christmas Day brings one of the NBA’s showcase games Lakers vs. Dallas Mavericks in a marquee holiday showdown.

January will test the team’s endurance with an eight-game road trip that starts against the Denver Nuggets and includes games against the LA Clippers, Dallas Mavericks, Cleveland Cavaliers, and New York Knicks.

The Lakers will then enjoy an eight-game homestand with visits from Golden State, OKC, San Antonio, Dallas, the Clippers, Boston, and Orlando.

The regular season wraps with a tough closing stretch against the Thunder (twice), Mavericks, Warriors, Suns, and Jazz.

The Lakers will appear in 34 nationally televised games, tied with Golden State and OKC for the most in the league.

Lakers Roster for 2025-26

The team’s star trio features Luka Doncic, LeBron James, and Austin Reaves. New veteran additions include Marcus Smart, Deandre Ayton, and Jake LaRavia.

Returning players from last season’s core include Rui Hachimura, Jaxson Hayes, Jarred Vanderbilt, Maxi Kleber, Christian Koloko, Bronny James, Dalton Knecht, and Gabe Vincent.

Rookie prospects Eric Dixon, Arthur Kaluma, Adou Thiero, and Augustas Marciulionis will be competing for roster spots.

Projected Starters:

  • PG: Luka Doncic
  • SG: Austin Reaves
  • SF: LeBron James
  • PF: Rui Hachimura
  • C: Deandre Ayton

Ayton is expected to take over the starting center role from Hayes, while Hachimura remains a consistent presence in JJ Redick’s first five.

With a loaded schedule, high expectations, and a revamped roster, the 2025–26 Lakers season promises plenty of drama, star power, and must-watch basketball.
