The 61st match of IPL 2025 is being played between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Monday, May 19. Rishabh Pant, leading LSG, and Pat Cummins, the captain of SRH, have announced their list of impact players for the match at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

LSG vs SRH, IPL 2025: Match Overview

This match is very important for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) as they are still in the race for the final playoff spot. They are competing with Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians. LSG must win their last three matches and also hope other results go their way. A loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) would end their playoff hopes.

LSG have faced several problems this season. Nicholas Pooran is out of form, Mayank Yadav got injured, Shardul Thakur has struggled, Ravi Bishnoi has been ineffective, and David Miller hasn’t delivered. Most worrying is captain Rishabh Pant’s poor form with the bat, which has also affected his captaincy.

Key players like Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Mohammed Shami, and Pat Cummins have all struggled. If SRH play well as a team, they could beat LSG and avoid finishing last. But it won’t be easy, as LSG have beaten them in 4 out of 5 IPL meetings.

At the toss, Pat Cummins mentioned that they were unsure about how the surface would behave. He said:

“We will have a bowl. You never know what to make of the wicket.”

On the other hand, Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant stated that they were comfortable with either option. He said:

“We don’t mind anything. The wicket looks good whether you bat first or bowl first.”
