In an exciting end to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Red Bull’ max Verstappen had to attend until the ultimate lap to overtake Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton and seal his maiden F1 World Championship title at the Yas dock Circuit on Sunday. When Nicholas Latifi crashed within the 54th lap, the Dutch driver took advantage of a second safety car to overtake Hamilton, who was heading in the right direction to win a best eighth title. Here is that the video of the 58th lap when Verstappen overtook Hamilton to win his maiden championship title:

 

 

The pair had entered the race level on points, with Verstappen having a plus because of a countback rule.

Once finishing behind Verstappen throughout qualifying within the second grid, Hamilton started well and grabbed an early lead. Verstappen had to accept some extraordinary cooperation from Red Bull’ Sergio Perez to claw himself into the race and the second position.
