“Celebrate Like a Festival”: Mohammad Kaif On MS Dhoni’s Potential Last IPL Match

Mohammad Kaif On MS Dhoni’s Potential Last IPL Match – Former India cricketer Mohammad Kaif has asked fans to celebrate the IPL 2025 match between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings like a festival. This game could be MS Dhoni’s last as both captain and player in the IPL. The 43-year-old is expected to lead the five-time champions in their final match of the season at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Mohammad Kaif Urges Fans to Celebrate MS Dhoni’s Possible Farewell

MS Dhoni hasn’t been able to do much with the bat, and his fitness problems are affecting how well he moves behind the stumps. He rarely runs for twos and mostly depends on hitting fours and sixes.

Ruturaj Gaikwad started the season as captain, but an elbow injury ended his season early. After that, the team gave the captaincy back to Dhoni. Mahi hasn’t said anything about his future yet and is currently focused on building the team for the next season.

“Fans should celebrate the match between CSK and LSG like a festival as it could be MS Dhoni’s last match. He will enter the field for one last time as a captain and player. Give him love and paint the stadium yellow,” Mohammad Kaif said.

“He wants to win the last match. CSK is Dhoni and Dhoni is CSK. It is tough to play for three months after staying away from cricket for eight months. Dhoni understood it this year,”Mohammad Kaif added.

Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) assistant coach Sridharan Sriram said the team still doesn’t know what MS Dhoni plans to do in the future. At the pre-match press conference, Sriram admitted that even the team doesn’t know what Dhoni plans to do. He said:

“As far as I know, there’s no update. I genuinely don’t know what he’s planning,” said Sriram when asked if Dhoni was considering retirement.

He added: “The positive is that Fleming, MS, and Ruturaj all have a strong understanding of the issues we’ve faced. They’re clear on the direction we need to take from here, and that’s a big plus,” he noted.
