MS Dhoni Completes Drone Pilot Training At Chennai’s Garuda Aerospace: Former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has taken his passion for innovation to new heights – literally. Already known as both a brand ambassador and investor in Chennai-based Garuda Aerospace, MS Dhoni has now officially become a certified drone pilot.

MS Dhoni Completes Drone Training in Chennai

MS Dhoni recently wrapped up his drone pilot training at Garuda Aerospace’s DGCA-approved Remote Pilot Training Organization (RPTO) in Chennai. This achievement marks another milestone in his long-standing association with the drone startup.

How It All Started

Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Founder and CEO of Garuda Aerospace, shared the story behind MS Dhoni’s new skill. “We were casually chatting one day when I mentioned that we had trained a large number of drone pilots. MS Dhoni immediately said, ‘Wish I could be a drone pilot too’. This conversation took place about a year and a half ago, and although his schedule was packed, he finally made it happen last week,” Jayaprakash recalled.

He went on to add, “He picked it up very quickly and was extremely focused on learning. His unwavering belief in our mission to revolutionise the drone industry is a massive source of encouragement for the entire team.”

Training India’s Next Generation of Drone Pilots

Garuda Aerospace, a DGCA-approved RPTO, has already trained more than 2,500 aspiring pilots under the guidance of its Master Instructors. The company’s training program blends classroom sessions on theory with hands-on practice using simulators and real drones. This structured approach helps ensure that every trainee becomes a skilled and certified drone pilot.

Leading the Way in Drone Innovation

As India’s drone industry continues to grow, the need for trained professionals is becoming more important than ever. Garuda Aerospace currently holds six DGCA approvals, making it a leader in the field. The company was also the first Indian drone startup to earn dual DGCA certifications, for both drone manufacturing and pilot training.

In addition, Garuda Aerospace has DGCA authorization to train pilots for both small and medium drone categories, covering drones that weigh under 25 kg as well as those above 25 kg maximum take-off weight (MTOW).

With MS Dhoni now joining the ranks of certified drone pilots, Garuda Aerospace’s mission to shape India’s drone ecosystem just got a powerful boost.
