NBA Players Who Reached 30,000 Career Points

Kevin Durant became the latest player in NBA history to score 30,000 career points. He achieved the feat in the Phoenix Suns’ 119-112 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday (12 February).

The four-time Olympic gold medallist sits in eighth position in the list of  players to score 30,000 points in NBA history for his career. The 36-year-old connected on a pair of free throws with 1:11 left in the third quarter to join an elite group including LeBron James, the all-time scoring leader, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, Dirk Nowitzki and Wilt Chamberlain.

Durant is a two-time NBA Finals Most Valuable Player (MVP) and four-time scoring champion. He finished with 34 points on the night in Phoenix and now has 30,008 points for his career which began with the Seattle SuperSonics in 2007.

Kevin Durant surpassed 30,000 points faster than anyone since Michael Jordan. He, along with LeBron James are the only active players in the top 10 list of NBA players with highest career points.

The Los Angeles Lakers star overtook Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in points during a memorable game on 7 February 2023, scoring 38 to give himself a total of 38,390 regular season points, in a 133-130 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder

Abdul-Jabbar had held the record with 38,387 points in regular season games.

Karl Malone with 36,298 points sits third in the list ahead of Kobe Bryant who is in fourth place with 33,643 points. The legendary Michael Jordan completes the top five with 32,292 points.
