“No compulsion to bat at no.6 , I can bat like Watson or Kallis”- Vijay Shankar
Shankar also opened up about the trolls which he has been facing.
Vijay Shankar was one of those players who made an unexpected entry into the ICC World Championship squad. Since then, though, he has not been picked to the Indian side even once and has fallen off the selection radar even when the regular all-rounder Hardik Pandya was out due to an injury.
Apart from being dropped from the side he is also being trolled by baseless comments more often . Based on his performances in the IPL, many of the fans have wondered how he made it to the ODI squad after playing in a completely different format.
Shankar had a very plain season at the World Cup as he could only bat thrice where his highest score was 29. He also said that he wasn’t shown much interest by the management after the World Cup and it was all silent from their half.
He also revealed about the ‘3D’ tag and how the fans were associating him with his selection in the WC squad.
