NSC vs SB: In a commanding performance at Lord’s, Northern Superchargers (NSC) achieved their first-ever Women’s Hundred 2025 title, defeating Southern Brave (SB) by seven wickets in the final. Key spells by Kate Cross and Annabel Sutherland, who both picked up two wickets apiece, limited the hitherto unbeaten Brave to a modest 115 for 6, paving the way for a clinical chase.
Cross and Sutherland Shine with the Ball
Kate Cross, rejected for England’s World Cup team 10 days ago, gave a brilliant spell to shake Brave early. She removed Maia Bouchier and Laura Wolvaardt off two successive balls, leaving Brave at 28 for 2.
Annabel Sutherland then dismissed Danni Wyatt-Hodge (25) and Freya Kemp (26), the two top scorers for the Brave, to continue this effort. The disciplined bowling unit delivered 42 dot balls, thereby maintaining pressure on the batters throughout the innings.
Southern Brave Struggle Despite Undefeated Run
Entering the last unbeaten, Southern Brave could not get going. Their slow beginning, only 15 runs from the initial 19 balls, placed them in a precarious position. Though Wyatt-Hodge and Bouchier attempted counterattacks with massive sixes, NSC’s aggressive fielding and tight bowling restricted them to a paltry total.
Sophie Devine, a bright spot all season with four Player-of-the-Match performances, could not make any impression with the bat, scoring only 23 off 28 balls before being caught by Lucy Higham.
Litchfield, Carey & Sutherland Nab the Chase for NSC
Pursuing 116, Superchargers lost Davina Perrin and Alice Davidson-Richards soon. But Phoebe Litchfield set the innings on fire with a fiery 26 off just 13 balls, comprising three boundaries and a six off Mady Villiers.
After the dismissal of Litchfield, it was an uninterrupted 60-run partnership between Sutherland (28)* and Nicola Carey (35)* that took Superchargers to a win with 12 balls in hand. Carey posted a composed and serene knock, with Sutherland seeing the game through in style with a Georgia Adams-bound six.

Another Final, Another Disappointment for Southern Brave
Despite of making the final in four out of five seasons of The Hundred Women’s Competition, Southern Brave possess just a single title. Their strong performance this season came to an end in agony as they failed at the last hurdle.
