Parthiv Patel Joins GT Coaching Staff
Former India wicket-keeper Parthiv Patel has joined the Gujarat Titans as their assistant and batting coach. The 38-year-old brings a wealth of experience to the team.

Former India wicketkeeper-batter Parthiv Patel, who has won the IPL three times, is now the new assistant and batting coach for the Gujarat Titans (GT). The franchise shared this update on November 13, setting up an exciting coaching addition for the coming IPL season.

Parthiv, known for his experience with multiple franchises, has played in the IPL for teams like the Chennai Super Kings and the Mumbai Indians—both with five championships each. In his 139 IPL games, he accumulated 2,848 runs with a strong strike rate over 120 and an average of 22.6. His career stats also include 69 catches and 16 stumpings. Parthiv retired from all forms of cricket in 2020.
After his playing days, Parthiv worked as a talent scout for the Mumbai Indians. Now, he takes on a new role with the Gujarat Titans, where he will support head coach Ashish Nehra as the assistant and batting coach for the team, who clinched the IPL title in 2022.
In an official statement, Gujarat Titans expressed enthusiasm about Parthiv’s appointment:
“The Gujarat Titans are thrilled to welcome Parthiv Patel as Assistant and Batting Coach. With his extensive 17-year career as a wicketkeeper-batter, Parthiv brings immense expertise to the team. As we gear up for the upcoming season, his knowledge of batting tactics and mentorship will greatly boost our players’ skills and confidence,” the team stated.
