Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola stated that Paris Saint Germain forwards Neymar and Kylian Mbappe can give opposition managers sleepless nights. Guardiola side has to find ways to stop the pair somehow as they possess the real threat to Manchester city defense.

PSG will host Man City at Parc des Princes in Paris for the UEFA Champions League first leg. PSG and City, who are both looking to win Europe’s elite club competition for the first time. PSG side possesses a wealth of attacking expertise, and on the other hand, Manchester City is a team that will have to work defensively strong.

“They’re too good. I tried to sleep well last night and that was when I wasn’t thinking of them,  Guardiola told reporters. That’s the reality. They’re top players. That’s why they play in that team with the quality they have. We’re ready to try to stop them, defend as a team, play good football and try to score goals.”

Pep Guardiola first saw Brazilian forward Neymar Jr. playing for the Santos against Guardiola side Barcelona in the 2011 Club World Cup.

“I remember when I saw some clips of Santos in that era and I said to the (Barcelona) players, This is the king of Santos’, and all the players were open-mouthed. They said, ‘Oh my God, what a player. He’s a joy to watch as a spectator,” he said.

“He has Brazil on his shoulders, the number 10 shirt of Brazil isn’t easy to wear.”

“I’m pretty sure if he had stayed in Barca they would have won two, three more Champions Leagues. With Neymar, (Lionel) Messi, and (Luis) Suarez, the best three I’ve seen,” Guardiola said.

Barcelona bought him to Spain in La Liga and later PSG bestowed the world record transfer fee when they paid 222 million euros ($268 million) in 2017 to bring him to PSG.

Pep Guardiola on (Foden and Mbappe)

Pep said “Foden and Mbappe play different positions. It is difficult to compare. Both are young, incredibly talented players. No doubt about that. I am sure PSG is so happy to have Mbappe. And I am incredibly happy to have Phil. a Man City supporter, come through the academy”.
