PMWC 2026: Tournament Format
The competition promises intense action across three distinct stages:
- Group Stage (August 6–9): The 32 qualified teams are divided into two groups of 16. Each group will compete in 12 matches, with the top 10 teams advancing directly to the Grand Finals. Teams placing 11th–26th will head to the Survival Stage, while the bottom 6 teams will face elimination.
- Survival Stage (August 11-12): 16 teams will compete in 12 matches in this crucial stage. The top 6 teams will qualify for the Grand Finals while the other 10 teams will be eliminated.
- Grand Finals (14-16 August): Championship title on the line as the top 16 teams go head to head over 3 days. On the last day of the event, the “Smash Rule” will be applied, adding yet another layer of strategic pressure as teams scramble to hit the “Match Point” threshold and claim a chicken dinner to take home the trophy.
