PSG released a brief statement on Ousmane Dembele earlier on Friday afternoon, noting ‘his condition is progressing well’ with further assessments still to be carried out.

Ousmane Dembele has been sensational this year and as we all know he has now entered the top 3 for the Ballon D’or running. He has now netted 33 goals in this season along with 12 assists and has been key for PSG’s success domestically and in Champions league.

This is the most important match of the season for PSG and Arsenal but if Dembele misses the 2nd leg, PSG’s lead would look a little more easy for Arsenal to overcome.

Enrique, who took over PSG in 2024, has said they will be pushing to get Dembele back before the second leg. Talking further on how it impacts the squad, PSG Manager Enrique in his press conference said:

“We’re going to try to get Dembele back on the pitch, But we’re a real team. If Ousmane can play, that’s better. But if he doesn’t, we’ll still be a real team. We’ve been saying that since the start of the season.”

When asked about the extent of the injury, the PSG coach replied, “I’m not sure.” He’ll undergo tests tomorrow. It’s not serious, it’s something very minor, but he’s probably a doubt for the second leg.”

Dembele also when asked about the situation on the matchday reflected on the situation, told L’Equipe “I felt a little something, but it’s OK.”

Dembele’s hamstring issue was unknown

Since the extent of Dembele’s hamstring issue was unknown, there were fears in the French capital that their talisman might not feature in next week’s return leg at Parc des Princes.

However, PSG officially released a new update on Dembele, which will come as a huge boost to Les Parisiens’ ambitions of reaching their first Champions League final since 2020. “Ousmane Dembele has strained his right hamstring. His condition is progressing well. A further assessment will be carried out shortly,” the medical report read.
