Indian wrestler Ravi Kumar Dahiya hails from the village of Nahri in the district of Sonipat in the Indian state of Haryana. He follows Sushil Kumar, another Indian wrestler who has achieved Olympic success. Starting when he was 10 years old, Satpal Singh of Delhi’s Chhatrasal Stadium trained him to become a boxer. It has been reported that for over a decade, Ravi Kumar Dahiya’s father made the trip from their village to the Chhatrasal Stadium to bring his son milk and fruits—an essential part of any wrestler’s diet.

Dahiya started his campaign at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 with two wins by technical knockout.
