Team India is enjoying dominance at the currently ongoing Asia Cup tournament. With a win over the tougher opponent Pakistan already achieved, India has almost reserved their place in the Top 4. However, they’re yet to face Hong Kong and ensure a win over them to fully seal and officiate their place in the further stage of the competition.

Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja appeared for a pre-match conference on Tuesday before the match against Hong Kong. Jadeja played the key role in the Sunday clash against Pakistan for India to reap a victory over the arch-rivals. With his commendable anchoring, Jadeja stabilized the batting while simultaneously relieving the pressure of the mounting run rate. And on a stage set by Jadeja, Pandya with his confident hit took the game home.

And seems like the win over rivals has put Ravindra Jadeja in a jovial mood, as it appeared in the latest interaction. Jadeja lightened up the room as soon as he entered it and asked “Bakra mil gaya kya(Found your sacrificial lamb, have you)?” to the journalists who cheered as he took his seat in the press conference.

Moreover, when asked about some ongoing rumors, Jadeja hit back with an epic reply. A reporter questioned him about the recent rumor about his injury during the IPL making him unavailable for the T20 World Cup and Asia Cup. And he demanded Jadeja’s take on the rumor. However, Jadeja bowled everyone over with his wit in answering the question. “Once I even heard a rumor that I had died; it can’t be bigger than that,” he responded. “I don’t think too much about it. I just focus on my work, try to play well and perform,” he said.

Additionally, he also answered a query regarding Rishabh Pant’s exclusion from the playing 11. A question inquired if the combination will keep Pant benched for the upcoming matches in the Asia Cup too. “Aapka sawaal mere book se baahar hai (your question is out of my syllabus),” Jadeja joked in retaliation.

However, Jadeja also gave insightful answers to some of the queries. A question asked Jadeja about his new batting position in the team as seen in the match against Pakistan. “If you play for India, there will be pressure always. You need to play with responsibility sometimes. When you get a chance to bat when the team is in trouble and then you have to win it from there, it’s challenging,” he answered.

Ravindra Jadeja ended the interaction on a jovial note as he said “One game at a time, one game at a time,” while walking off after a question about the upcoming home series against Australia.
