Real Madrid Come from Behind to Beat Real Sociedad in La Liga Clash

Real Madrid secures top La Liga spot with a 2-1 win against Real Sociedad after rallying from a goal down.

Real Madrid mounted a comeback to maintain their perfect record, claiming the top position in La Liga with a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Real Sociedad at their home ground.

In the early minutes of the match, Ander Barrenetxea opened the scoring for Real Sociedad, but Fede Valverde equalized for Real Madrid with a powerful long-range shot just as the second half began.

The decisive moment came when Joselu, with a commanding header, secured the win for Real Madrid on the hour mark, following Fran Garcia’s run and cross from the left flank. Real Sociedad had their hopes dashed when Take Kubo’s first-half strike, which would have given them a 2-0 lead, was disallowed due to Mikel Oyarzabal‘s offside position.

In another La Liga  match, Villarreal also overcame an early deficit to triumph 2-1 at home against Almeria. Sergio Akieme gave Almeria the lead in the 44th minute, but Gerard Moreno equalized just before halftime. Villarreal sealed the win in injury time with Alexander Sorloth finding the net.

Getafe emerged victorious in a thrilling home game, narrowly beating Osasuna 3-2. Stefan Mitrovic and Jose Angel Carmona twice put Getafe in the lead with headers, but Iker Munoz and Ante Budimir responded for Osasuna, with Budimir converting a penalty. Nemanja Maksimovic‘s header in the 86th minute secured Getafe’s victory, and Mason Greenwood made a cameo appearance in the 77th minute.

Sevilla secured their first points of the season with a 1-0 victory over Las Palmas, thanks to a goal by Dodi Lukebakio, who came off the bench. The match also saw Sergio Ramos donning a Sevilla jersey, marking his return to the club almost two decades after his departure to Real Madrid.
