Vinicius, who arrived from Flamengo back in 2018 for €45 million, has been a key part of Madrid’s recent success. From big Champions League nights to becoming one of La Liga’s most feared attackers, the 24-year-old has flourished in white. His current contract runs until 2027, but both parties have been in talks to extend his stay by another three years.

The winger reportedly wants a significant wage hike one that would even put him above Kylian Mbappe on the club’s payroll. With Saudi clubs lurking in the shadows and reportedly offering an eye-watering €1 billion deal over five years, Madrid are in no mood to meet those demands.

Vinicius is still open to staying, but only on his terms.

Meanwhile, Saudi officials have been pursuing him since 2023 and haven’t backed down, with an official offer already on the table.

According to Cadena SER, should Vinicius Jr leave the Bernabeu, Real Madrid will make a move for Erling Haaland. The Manchester City striker has been marked as the Brazilian’s ideal successor, not a like-for-like replacement on the wing, but a box-office star to join forces with Kylian Mbappe and redefine Madrid’s attack.

Vinicius does have a €1 billion release clause, a sum only dreamt of in Football Manager but if a significant offer arrives, Madrid are no longer ruling out a sale.
