IPL 2026, season 19, has been the worst season for the Lucknow Supergiants, led by Rishabh Pant. Now, after losing consecutive matches, former India batter Manoj Tiwary has raised concerns over Pant’s leadership and decision-making after Lucknow Super Giants slumped to their seventh defeat in IPL 2026 on Monday. Even after posting a massive 228/5, LSG ended up losing by six wickets to a struggling Mumbai Indians side.

LSG bowlers failed

LSG’s bowling once again failed to deliver, with Mohsin Khan and Mohammed Shami among those who proved expensive. Prince Yadav was the lone standout, giving away just 24 runs in his three overs at an economy of 8.

Tiwary is concerned about Arjun Tendulkar

Tiwary questioned Pant’s tactical approach, saying he did not make full use of his bowling options despite having alternatives available. He also suggested that Arjun Tendulkar, who has reportedly been working on yorkers in the nets, could have been given a chance during the game.

‘Pant is far behind of Dhoni and Rohit’

He also brought up Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni while assessing Pant’s captaincy, saying the LSG skipper still has a long way to go compared to some of the IPL’s finest leaders when it comes to game awareness. he said.“Pant is falling short on the tactical side as well. Against Mumbai, Prince Yadav stood out as the only economical bowler, mainly because he was sticking to yorkers. As a captain, Pant should have guided the rest of the attack to follow the same approach. I even came across videos shared by LSG on social media where Arjun Tendulkar was practising yorkers in the nets. He could have been used in that situation. That’s where captains like MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma set themselves apart,” .

LSG this season under Pant’s Captaincy

Lucknow Supergiants bought Rishabh Pant as most expensive player in IPL history. They have had a lot of expectations from skipper, but he was not able to match management hopes this season as LSG is on edge of getting out of the playoff’s race. Lucknow has played 9 matches where they mannaged to win only 2 matches, meanwhile they lost 7 matches this season. This is one of the worst peformance of LSG under Captain Rishabh Pant.
