Robin Hack Shines with Brace as Monchengladbach Triumphs Over Stuttgart in Bundesliga Clash

Read about Borussia Monchengladbach’s impressive 3-1 victory over Stuttgart, with Robin Hack’s brace stealing the spotlight in Bundesliga’s 17th round opener.

Stuttgart encountered an early setback in 2024 as Borussia Monchengladbach, fueled by Robin Hack’s brace, clinched a convincing 3-1 victory in the curtain closer of the Bundesliga’s 17th round.

The Foals embarked on a fairy tale start on home soil when Rocco Reitz’s through ball allowed Robin Hack to slot home the opener within the first minute. Despite Stuttgart’s possession control, Hack completed his brace in the 19th minute after tapping home Alassane Plea’s pass.

Stuttgart responded with determination, but Deniz Undav‘s attempts were denied by the outside of the left post at the half-hour mark. Undav remained active, shooting wide again six minutes later.

In the 55th minute, Stuttgart found a lifeline as Jamie Leweling’s pass reached Josha Vagnoman, who drilled the ball into the top left corner, reducing the deficit to one goal.

Despite Stuttgart’s eager press for another goal, Monchengladbach’s defense held firm. To compound matters, the Foals secured their victory with a counterattack in added time, as Jordan Beyer finished off to restore the two-goal lead.

Despite the loss, Stuttgart maintains their grip on the third spot in the standings, while Monchengladbach climbs to the 10th position.

Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeness expressed dissatisfaction, stating, “I’m not happy; we got off to a bad start. It’s very annoying that we lost. Gladbach defended deep and gave us no room. We weren’t effective enough.”

Monchengladbach coach Gerardo Seoane acknowledged the first-half excellence, saying, “The first half was very good in all areas. Robin Hack threw himself into it. We are pleased that he took advantage of his opportunity.”

In another match, Werder Bremen secured a late 1-1 draw against Bochum, courtesy of Niklas Stark’s impressive long-range strike.
