BENGALURU: After being ruled out of the next Test series in South Africa owing to injury, India’s white-ball captain Rohit Sharma and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja have begun their recovery at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) here.
In social media posts, the two senior players were spotted at the NCA with India U-19 captain Yash Dhull. The U-19 team is presently camping at the NCA in preparation for the Asia Cup, which begins on December 23 in the United Arab Emirates.
Rohit, who took over as ODI skipper from Virat Kohli last week, was set to fly to South Africa as vice-captain of the Test team for the series commencing on December 26 but was forced to withdraw due to a hamstring injury sustained during training.
His recovery time is estimated to be three to four weeks.
Priyank Panchal, the captain of the India ‘A’ team, has been picked to replace Rohit in the Test squad that arrived in South Africa on Thursday for the series.
