Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma finally tested negative for COVID-19 on Sunday, 3rd July. The Indian team are currently playing the 5th rescheduled Test match against England at Edgbaston which started on 1st July. Before this match, skipper Rohit Sharma tested positive for COVID-19 and was ruled out from this last match of the series.
After Rohit Sharma was ruled out from this 5th Test match against England, pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah was named captain of the side. BCCI has already announced the squad for the upcoming T20I and ODI series against England which will be played after this 5th Test. There will be three T20Is and three ODIs played between England and India.
After skipper Rohit’s reports came negative on Sunday, he will be available for these series (ODI & T20I). BCCI has confirmed that the skipper will be leading the side in the first T20I match against England which will be played on 7th July.
Indian fans will be hoping to win all the series in England and if they managed to get a victory or draw in this ongoing last Test match at Edgbaston then this will be one of the biggest achievements of the Indian team as they are already leading this series by 2-1.
