S8UL Esports Disqualified From MSC 2025

S8UL Esports has been disqualified from the Mid Season Cup (MSC) 2025 for breaking competitive rules. This unexpected move has shocked the MLBB community, especially after the team recently signed the talented BloodThirstyKings lineup from North America.

The MSC 2025 is scheduled to run from July 10 to August 2 in Riyadh, featuring 23 teams from all over the world. The total prize pool for this event is $3 million, making it one of the biggest MLBB tournaments ever. MSC 2025 is also a key part of the Esports World Cup, which includes 25 different competitive titles.

Why Was S8UL Disqualified?

The controversy began when two key players, Hoon (Jang Seong-hun) and MobaZane (Michael Cosgun), participated in a rival MOBA event. This goes against the official MSC 2025 rules set by Moonton, the game’s publisher.

Moonton stated that any player found promoting or playing in events of competing mobile MOBA games will face penalties. These actions are outlined in the MSC Penalty Index – Section 2, which specifically warns against giving exposure to competitor games through livestreams or participation.

Despite being warned and given several chances to back out from the rival event, Team S8UL chose to continue, resulting in immediate disqualification.

Official Statement from Moonton

Here’s what Moonton shared publicly:

“Dear MLBB Esports Community, the MSC 2025 Committee has an important update on the participating teams for the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Mid Season Cup (MSC) at 2025 Esports World Cup (EWC). Jang “Hoon” Seong-hun and Michael “MobaZane” Cosgun from Team S8UL, the representatives from North America, have been found in breach of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Mid Season Cup Official Rules due to their decision to participate in an event associated with a competing mobile Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) title.”

This announcement was made on June 30, 2025, across Moonton’s social media platforms.

What Happens Now?

S8UL had previously earned their spot in MSC 2025 after winning the North America Challenger Tournament (NACT) Spring 2025. The team had looked promising and had big support from fans. However, their rule violation has now cost them the chance to compete on the global stage.

As a result of their disqualification, Area 77, who were the NACT Spring 2025 runner-up, will now take their place at MSC 2025. This is a big opportunity for Area 77 to prove themselves among the best in the world.

Why This Matters

This situation shows how strict the rules are in international esports. Teams need to follow every guideline carefully, or they risk missing out on huge chances. It’s also a lesson for future tournaments that even top players aren’t above the rules.

What Is the MSC 2025?

The Mid Season Cup (MSC) is one of the most awaited MLBB tournaments every year. In 2025, it is even more exciting because it’s part of the Esports World Cup a global event supported by $70 million in funding and featuring 25 esports games.

MSC 2025 will have three stages:

  • Group Stage
  • Knockouts
  • Grand Finals

With teams from different regions, it’s a great event to watch for fans of Mobile Legends.
